HANNON Transport SAS Meets Minister Martin Heydon at SIAL 2024 in Paris

HANNON Transport SAS, the French division of the HANNON Group, recently had the opportunity to meet with Martin Heydon, Ireland’s Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, during the SIAL international food show in Paris.  Celebrating its 60th year, SIAL remains a premier global event in the food industry, bringing together over 7,500 exhibitors and 8,000 buyers from across ten key sectors, including Meat, Dairy, and Fresh Fruit & Vegetables.

Representing HANNON Transport SAS was Fiontan Campbell, Business Development Executive for France.  HANNON Transport, one of Ireland’s leading temperature-controlled logistics providers, specialises in the swift, reliable transportation of fresh produce and agri-food products from Ireland to European markets, managed entirely through our own fleet, facilities, and dedicated teams.

During the meeting, Minister Heydon expressed a keen interest in HANNON’s contributions to Ireland’s food exports, particularly regarding key services:

  • Groupage Transport Services: HANNON’s groupage options provide transport solutions for shipments as small as one pallet, a crucial offering for Irish SMEs entering new European markets with limited volumes.
  • Strategic Hubs: With warehousing and consolidation facilities in Arras, Northern France, and strategic hubs across Ireland and the Netherlands, HANNON offers producers efficient access to European markets.
  • UK Landbridge Expertise: In the face of post-Brexit challenges, HANNON Customs Clearance teams in Netherlands and Northern Ireland ensure smooth and compliant transit across the UK landbridge, which remains a vital route for fresh agri-food products from Ireland.

Minister Heydon also acknowledged the HANNON Group’s dedication to Irish communities in France, highlighted by our sponsorship of the Paris Gaels GAA Club.  Beyond logistics, HANNON takes pride in supporting Irish culture and business abroad, fostering connections through sports and community activities.

In addition, HANNON Transport’s recent recognition as “Logistics & Supply Chain Company of the Year” at the 2024 Irish Export Industry Awards was commended by the Minister, affirming HANNON’s commitment to excellence in logistics solutions for the Irish agri-food sector.

In an exciting update, Paris Gaels and Bordeaux combined team had a historic win this weekend against Wandsworth at McGovern Park in London, becoming the first French team to reach an All-Ireland quarter-final!  Congratulations from all of us at HANNON Transport – we are delighted to celebrate this incredible achievement with you!
