Focusing on Near-Misses Across Our Operations
HANNON Transport marked World Day for Safety and Health at Work with a focused initiative across our sites, bringing teams together to reinforce the importance of safety in our day-to-day operations.
This year, the focus was on a critical but often overlooked area—near-misses.
If You See Something, Say Something
Across our warehouse and operational teams, colleagues took part in toolbox talks centred around a simple message:
If you see something, say something.
In a fast-paced logistics environment, near-misses are early warning signs. When they go unreported, opportunities to prevent incidents are lost. When they are logged and shared, they become a tool for improving safety across the business.
Building a Strong Safety Culture
From busy dock operations to time-sensitive handling, the margin between a near-miss and a serious incident can be small.
That is why creating a strong reporting culture is essential—one built on:
- No blame
- No judgement
- Open and honest communication
Encouraging teams to speak up ensures that risks are identified early and addressed effectively.
Recognising the Team Effort
A special thanks to our teams across all sites who took the time to engage with this initiative, including our warehouse teams and those supporting training and compliance.
This included contributions from colleagues across both day and night shifts, reinforcing that safety is a shared responsibility at every level of the operation.

Looking Ahead
Maintaining a safe working environment requires ongoing focus, consistency, and engagement from everyone.
By continuing to encourage reporting, awareness, and accountability, HANNON Transport remains committed to protecting our people and supporting safe, efficient operations across all sites.
