HANNON GROUP is one of Ireland’s leading international refrigerated and general hauliers dealing with the daily transportation of chilled, frozen and dry freight.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a highly motivated and driven ICT Manager to support and develop the business’s current ICT Infrastructure.  The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Operations and a number of external stakeholders to ensure a range of strategic objectives are achieved.

This role represents a significant opportunity for an ambitious ICT professional to join a dynamic business in a key role.


The Role

As the ICT Manager, you will report directly to the Head of Operations and will be responsible for the following:

  • Strategic ICT planning for current and future business requirements
  • Management of ICT Infrastructure in our national sites (NI/ROI) and our international sites (NL/Fr)
  • Project Management of a number of ICT developments, ensuring to meet pre-agreed timelines and ensuring to communicate this effectively to the relevant personnel
  • Responsibility for the management of the ICT related supply chain for the business. This will entail managing third party service level agreements, as well as being responsible for all ICT related purchases.
  • Develop an ICT risk management framework, to include; oversight of Disaster Recovery processes and establishing a robust cyber security process to mitigate risk.
  • Daily monitoring and assessment of system performance ensuring to maximise performance at all opportunities. Identifying improvements that will enhance performance where possible.
  • Other tasks include; Network Management, Multi-Site RDP and optimisation of remote working amongst the workforce and various Ad Hoc Tasks.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

  • Competency in SQL database and agent management
  • Understanding of Microsoft Server Technologies
  • Understanding of Software Development Methodologies and Delivery
  • Ability to manage all Office 365 related administration
  • Proven track record of project management and successful completion of objectives
  • Experience in managing supplier relationships in relation to daily activities and strategic projects
  • An ability to manage an IT Budget and manage it for the purchase of Hardware/Software
  • Be prepared to travel to other Group sites as required (this will include overseas travel).
  • Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative towards business improvement.
  • Ability to communicate comfortably with all levels of staff & management in the company.
  • People management skills.
  • High personal standards towards delivery of information to the highest standards of quality.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to influence and manage in a complex environment.

The Person

The successful applicant will meet the following criteria:

  • 3rd Level Education to Degree level with an ICT or related degree discipline
  • A solid understanding of all IT fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills along with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
